Aikido is a modern form of Japanese martial art which was created in the 1920s, during the wars, not to fight but to bring peace and harmony to the world. The founder, Master Morihei Ueshiba, studied and reached the highest level of mastery in different forms of traditional martial arts. By developing Aikido, he dedicated himself to benefit mankind, to make the world better.
Vriesman Dojo, as the centre of Aikido in and around Amsterdam, has been pursuing this spirit and love for our art for over 30 years.
Vriesman Dojo has been run by a Dutch- Japanese couple, Wilko Vriesman 7th dan and Satomi Vriesman Ishikawa 5th dan, both qualified professionals. The trainings are given 5 days a week, for different age groups and levels, in different locations in Amsterdam.
The open lesson evening will be led by Satomi Vriesman Ishikawa.
Except for this open lesson, we are offering free try-out during the Sportweek for all age groups. The training schedule is found on aikikai.amsterdam
